About Zetboo

Zetboo is a free, multilingual live chat platform. You join public rooms to talk about what you like, write privately to your friends, call them by audio or video, and meet new people, in your own language and from any device: computer, tablet or phone.

What you can do

• Public rooms. Discussion spaces open to all members, sorted by language: the ones in your language appear first. You can browse them without an account, then log in to join. You can also create your own rooms, make them public or restricted to some members, give them a name, a description, an avatar and a language, and appoint administrators to moderate them.
• Private messages. A direct conversation with a friend, with a "sent" then "read" indicator, the time of each message, replies that quote a specific message, and emoji reactions.
• Audio and video calls between friends, straight from the browser, with nothing to install.
• Photos, voice messages and files: send them in a room or in a private conversation. Every file is checked by an antivirus before it is shared.
• A profile that looks like you: an avatar, a display name and, if you wish, a few details about yourself. Everything is optional, apart from a username and an e-mail address to create the account.
• Your settings: a wallpaper for your conversations, your favorite rooms, and the interface in the language of your choice among 14.

A simple platform, in your language

Zetboo is available in French, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Italian, German, Dutch, Russian, Chinese, Arabic, English, Polish, Japanese, Thai and Filipino. Each room shows the language spoken in it, so everyone can easily find the ones where they will feel at home.

The starting idea is to keep things simple: few buttons, conversations that stay readable, and a site that works as well on a phone as on a large screen.

How it works

Zetboo is built on XMPP, an open and proven messaging protocol, with the free Prosody server. The server is run by the publisher of the site. To learn more about your data, read the privacy policy; to know what is and is not allowed, read the terms of service.
